The basis for the work of Fleximaus is formed by surveys at the customers' wind turbines and several years at turbines all over in Europe. Bat experts carry out a one-off survey at your wind farm - bat monitoring. This enables them to determine the environmental conditions (outside temperature, wind speed, rain intensity or time of day) under which bats are most likely to be present in the rotor area.
The Fleximaus compares the expert's specifications with the actual prevailing environmental parameters and switches off your wind turbines at precisely the times when bats are likely to approach them. Once the danger has been averted, our optimization system brings your rotors back into operation almost as quickly. Always with the aim of avoiding unnecessary downtimes and protecting the endangered species.
If the Fleximaus is used in parallel with bat monitoring, our environmental data can also be incorporated into the bat behavior monitoring. The result: a far more precise bat shutdown adapted to the site-specific behavior of the aerial acrobats as well as an even more species-friendly and economical wind farm operation.
The Fleximaus keeps you informed about all steps: Wind farm operators can both track the conditions prevailing at the wind turbine from different mobile devices in real time and also understand bat shutdowns that have been carried out at any time.

The day-by-day observation of sunset and sunrise reduces the observation time by additional hours per month. In addition, the plausibility of the environmental data is checked.

All Fleximaus environmental sensors are selected according to the respective area of application and form the basis for optimum site-specific species protection.
Openness
Both external environmental sensors already present in the wind farm and recording systems that will only be approved in the future can be integrated into the Fleximaus interface.

Bats fly after dark, hunt more selectively over bodies of water when it rains, and are rarely seen in the direct vicinity of rotor blades above a certain wind strength - but not always and everywhere. In order to predict the site-specific flight behavior of the endangered animals during different events, Fleximaus measures and observes numerous environmental parameters and compares them with the studies of the bat experts.
